Biblical Nuggets: Three Elements of Faith

Three Elements of Faith

(a) Knowledge (notitia)

No Christian Faith without the knowledge of God and the Gospel. In order to have faith in Jesus and the Gospel, we must have some level of knowledge. True knowledge involves the knowledge of God and his attributes. It does not have to extensive knowledge but must have true knowledge.

(b) Conviction (assensus)

Believing the knowledge of God and the Gospel to be true.

(c) Trust (fiducia)

Commitment to God and his Gospel. Satan and demons also believe in Jesus but cannot do this while they do have knowledge and conviction.
